Baptism - Holy Ghost
"...Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus
Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the
Holy Ghost" (Acts 2:38).
The Holy Ghost is
the promise of the Father (1 John 5:7) which was fulfilled on The Day
of Pentecost. Jesus sent the Holy Ghost to baptize the disciples so
that they would have power to perform His work in the earth (Acts 2:4).
By His indwelling, we become able to witness.
Baptism -
Water
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name
of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them
to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am
with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:19-20).
To baptize is to dip,
plunge, immerse or to submerge (Mark 1:5). Water baptism is in obedience
to the commandments given by Jesus Christ and executed by the Apostles
(Acts 2:38). It is an essential part of our salvation
(Mark 16:16).
Character Development
Christ is the model for perfect character that sets the standard of
God in holiness, maturity and love. These qualities are clearly seen
in the life of the believer who possess the fruit of the Spirit; love,
joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and
temperance (Galatians 5:22-23).
Divine Healing
Divine Healing is that act of healing which occurs to relieve an individual
who is suffering from a sickness, disease or infirmity of the body.
The act (healing) proceeds directly from God and is, therefore, a work
of the Holy Spirit, which may exclude natural influences.
Eucharist
Holy Communion is one of the ordinances set forth by Jesus for the New
Testament church. It was instituted at the feast of Passover and celebrated
prior to the crucifixion. It involved the blessing of the Bread and
Wine. Jesus commanded His disciples to remember His death and resurrection
through this manner until His return (Luke 22:17-20).
The Godhead
Godhead simply means "God is the head."
1. He is before all things.
2. By Him all things exist.
3. He is the head of the body (the church).
4. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead.
5. He has preeminence in the earth (Colossians 1:17-18).
6. He has chosen to manifest Himself to man as Father,
Son and Holy Ghost.
Justification
Justification is an act of God by which sinners are reconciled to God
through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. By the grace
of God and our faith in Jesus Christ, His righteousness is imputed to
every believer, just as if we never sinned (Psalm 32:2; Romans 4:22-25).
Prophecy
Prophecy is a gift of the spirit whereby God primarily ministers to
the body of Christ through confirmation, edification and exhortation.
Prophets are not psychics and should not be sought after as such. There
are various levels of prophecy to be found in the church--the spirit
of prophecy, the gift of prophecy and the office of the Prophet.
Regeneration
Regeneration is the spiritual new birth, the re-creation of the human
spirit by the effectual working of the Holy Spirit, by which the regenerated
man becomes "a new creation." It is being born of water and the spirit
and is essential for without it, man "cannot see or enter the kingdom
of God." It is the incoming of divine life making him who is regenerated
a partaker of the divine nature.
Repentance
Repentance is a change of mind and attitude regarding a matter. Most
importantly, it is an individuals' turning from evil (or sin) to God
or from evil (sinful) ways to God's way.
Salvation
Salvation is the redemptive act of God, whereby we must be saved. Salvation
is the deliverance from the power, effects and penalty of sin. It includes
justification, sanctification and regeneration.
Sanctification
The act of God that takes place in an individual's life through the
Holy Spirit that causes the individual to be separated from sin and
the world and drawn closer to God for His use and glory.
Spiritual Protocol
To live a victorious life, God calls and ordains leadership as an instrument
for growth and maturity in the body of Christ.
The Bible gives the primary offices of the fivefold ministry... the Apostle,
Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher (Ephesians 4:11) for the edifying
of the body of Christ, through instruction, shaping and molding the
life of Christians for service.
Tithing
The Tithe is holy unto the Lord (Leviticus 27:30) and is one of the
ways by which the local church is advanced (Malachi 3:8-11). It is a
tenth (10%) of one's increase. Tithing is one of the channels that God
uses to bless His people. The principle of tithing is based on the believer's
faith in God to supply daily provision.
